CHESNEE CITY COUNCIL


SPECIAL MEETING

November 3, 2008


Present: Mayor and all Council; Barry Stapleton with sewer plant; Chief Smith; no news media.
Mayor Cash called the meeting to order.
Councilman Johnson gave the invocation.

Mayor Cash talked with the group about getting along and not arguing in Council meetings.

Barry Stapleton asked for needs for the plant:

Heavy duty locks for doors.
Bars on doors.
Rebar on fence.
Heater for lab.
Respirators.
Lights repaired.
Possibly later install cameras.
Councilman Pye made the motion to grant the list of needs; Councilman Johnson second. Motion carried.

Councilman Pye made the motion to allow the Mayor to spend up to $1000. from the Hospitality Tax Fund (after talking with the Committee) and the Sewer Fund; Mayor Pro tem Mahaffey second. Motion carried.

Councilman Pye made the motion to allow the Planning Commission to purchase mulch from Crossroads Mulch (low bidder) at the price of $585; Mayor Pro tem Mahaffey second. Motion carried.

Chief Smith presented the Council with the Ordinance for Scrap Metal. Councilman Pye made the motion to give it first reading; Mayor Pro tem Mahaffey second. Motion carried.

Councilman Pye made the motion to give first reading to the Confidentiality Ordinance; Mayor Pro tem Mahaffey second. Motion carried.

Mayor Pro tem Mahaffey made the motion to adjourn; Councilman Pye second. Motion carried.
